Nutshell Camera App: Isabella

Hi Isabella, I haven’t had a chance yet to use Nutshell in the tutorials, so I really enjoyed hearing your experience and opinions about it. The introduction video you used was very informative and gave me a much better idea of how you can use the app.

I love the idea of students using Nutshell to document a science experiment/procedure and it can definitely be used across subjects and stages.

You effectively supported your points with appropriate literature whilst keeping the post easy and engaging to read.

Is there any way for the app to be moderated by a teacher? Similarly, can you create class groups to share videos?

I agree with Zeyba’s comment about Nutshell being useful in both group and individual work, groupwork can enhance creativity by sharing ideas but also hinder it if someone’s ideas are not heard which will be an important thing for a teacher to keep in mind.

I enjoyed reading your post and am already thinking of ways I could utilise Nutshell in my own teaching!

AI: DALL-E and CHATGPT

Margot

Hi Margot,

Really enjoyed reading about the two AI platforms and how you compared the two. I agree with your points that DALL-E and CHATGPT could and should be used to start the creative process for students and that creativity is enhanced when these applications are used WITH other educational strategies.

I also found your point on how these technologies reinforce often negative stereotypes, hindering creativity incredibly interesting and it is definitely something to keep in mind as a future educator.

Would of liked to see some examples of images of both these technologies being used.

All round, really insightful and interesting as I similarly looked into DALL-E.

Design Thinking and SketchUp

Ashley

Hi Ashley,

This is a fantastic post, thank you! I found your description of SketchUp very insightful and agree with how SketchUp can be used to foster creativity through utilising design thinking and visual affordances.

I liked your example for using SketchUp in the classroom and how it can connect so many different subjects. It is important to keep in mind how SketchUp can be used to support creativity in different age groups as even I found it complex to use at first. I am assuming this post has been written with secondary students in mind?

It’s important to discuss some of the limitations so educators can know how to best utilise SketchUp in their teaching.

I really enjoyed reading this, thank you!

Augmented Reality - Monster Park and Zapworks

Renae

Hi Renae,

I really enjoyed reading your post, it amazes me how many different educational tools that utilise AR are out there!

Your post is very insightful, and I can tell that you have really thought about the educational implications for students whilst using these apps.

I liked the inclusion of the videos and images in your post as they gave me a much better idea of what these apps would look like as I have not yet had the chance to use some of them.

The Spacecraft AR video would be more effective by providing more information about the app in the post and how it can also foster creativity.

Great and fascinating post, thank you!

Multimedia and Stop Motion Studio

Ayah

Hi Ayah,

I loved reading your post about multimedia and Stop Motion Studio! Really good explanation and summary about what these two things are and how they are effectively used to enhance creativity in the classroom. Your road safety example is great and would be super engaging for primary students.

I am really interested to know how stop motion assists students in making connections between long-term-memory and working-memory? Is it through learning how to use stop motion or using stop motion to explore different content areas?

A great read thank you!

Constructionism and Microbits

Alvaro

Hi Alvaro,

I really enjoyed reading your post about Microbits and constructionism. Really good explanation of what Microbits are and all the things they can do! and a great structure throughout the post that was easy to follow.

The links you have made to project-based learning are relevant and insightful and I can see how you have taken onboard information from the entire unit, not just the week-to-week topics. I would like to see more connections to how constructionism and providing maker spaces can foster creativity.

I like the inclusion of recommendations for using Microbits in the classroom, definitely helpful as a future teacher!

Lots of great and relevant references and videos!

Great work, thank you!
